DIY Halloween Costumes

Look out this Halloween for "flirty" witches, vampires, angels, cops, firefighters, Cinderella's, Alice's in Wonderland etc. All with short skirts and a variation of the same outfit!  Trust me, they will be everywhere.  Not you though.  You’re dressing different. I have created some DIY costume ideas for the unique mind.  These costumes aren’t just great if you're aiming to be different, they’re also great for your wallet! The best thing about these ideas is that the outfits are made up from pieces you might already have in your closet!  If you don't have some you can simply get them at the thrift store.

For any fashionista out there I thought this one would be fun.  Everybody in the fashion universe knows the lovely designer Betsey Johnson.  Her bright, free, and careless personality is what makes her unique.  Wouldn't it be fun to be her for a day.  And so you can be!  All you need is that awesome Marilyn Monroe t-shirt she always sports. An amazing sparkly, tutu complemented by some metallic leggings.  Get a blonde wig with bangs, comb through it to give it that roughed up look.  Lastly don't forget that red lipstick!

I know what you guys are thinking.  This costume idea is silly.  But I really love it! If you're an aspiring magazine editor, or simply adore magazines this one's for you.  Anna Wintour is considered one of the most fashion savvy women in the fashion world right now.  I'm sure she knows.  For this costume you don't need much.  Anna is all about keeping it simple.  A great dress, some fo fur, and dark shades will do the trick.  Yes, the bob wig is needed too.  It's her trademark!

Amelia Earhart has always been a favorite historic figure.  The idea behind such a strong, revolutionary woman fascinated me in the 5th grade.  Her dissapearence has left such impact on the world along with a huge mystery.  A vintage leather jacket, great pair of bottoms, and eye goggles make the perfect combination for her look.

The mixture of industrialized vintage punk is so innovative.  Steampunk has become sort of an "underground" fashion trend.  Some are not brave enough to wear it.  The steampunk dress consists of corsets, long gloves, awesome skirts, vintage lace up boots, and industrialized trinkets if you will.  Watches are torn inside out for their mechanisms to make steampunk jewelry.  Complicated as this looks it's not.  All you need is to hit the junk yard and see what pieces you come across.

Have a fun and safe Halloween!

Amanda Michele Parriott

Hey everyone.
So my name is Amanda Michele Parriott,
but of course I just go by my first name Amanda ^-^
I was born in Santa Maria on November 15, 2012;
so yes I am currently 22 years old.
My life up until 5th grade was spent moving around from Bakersfield, Fresno, and Tollhouse.
We moved back to Bakersfield when I was in 5th grade where we lived until my first semester of college at Bakersfield College.

Since then I transfered to Fresno city college where I receive my AA in 2-D art.
Then I transfered to here at Fresno State where I am majoring in fashion merchandising to get my BA.

I didn't really realize what I wanted as a career until my last semester at Fresno City.
Then it just hit me,
why don't I get a career combining the two things I love?
Which happens to be art and fashion.
And I certainly to spend a great deal of time looking at fashion blog, reading magazines, fashion catalogs, and spending a good deal of time trying to put the right look together every morning.
And it would be just because,
I don't need to have a reason to dress fashionable.
My mind is mostly thinking about fashion anyways.

Soo... long story short I decided I am going to become a fashion stylist.
Did some research, and told myself, "You can do this, you were born for this career."
So here I am working my way up the ladder to my someday awesome career as a fashion stylist.

Look forward to posting often on this group blog.

And if you'd like to know more about me you can check me out and contact me at:

This truly is something my own kitty would do.
She loves my attention.

Men's Quality Underwear

Men's Quality Underwear

Like every other women out there, men aren't just wearing the typical Hanes underwear brand, but now they are starting to wear the high brand underwear names such as Calvin Klein, 2(x)ist, and Andrew Christian to name a few. The quality of the fabrics are not just plain old 100% cotton, but not mixed in with filament fibers of spandex, microfiber, nylon, rayon, and polyester.
When it comes to wearing the plain old regular 100% cotton boxer brief, you may feel as if the underwear fits comfortable around your thigh and butt, but after a few hours you start to feel the underwear sagging from your butt and it ends up looking like "The Men's Diaper." I am sure this happens to every men wearing his underwear out there. God forbids this will ever happen again. You don't really notice your underwear sagging until you slip your pants off and look at yourself in the mirror. The look on your face goes, "What tha fudge?" This is disturbing and very unattractive not only for you to see, but for others to see as well. Even after you wash your underwear, it will look freshly new and fitted against your skin, but once you start working in them, the body heat generates against your skin starts sagging the underwear. This is where the quality brand underwear fabrics come in.
Men are as sexy as women, but the power of having that confident not only comes from how you feel, but from what you wear. I do own a couple of 100% Super Soft Cotton in my drawers at home too, but I feel that my most favorite pair of undies would be those consisting of microfiber and spandex cotton.
Andrew Christian Vivid Fuse Underwear may just be 100% Super Soft Cotton, but the brand name and the colors attract consumers to its attention. The underwear at first fits just right and tightly comfortable, but towards the end of the day the size just went from a size small to an extra-large.

Calvin Klein Underwear sells multiple quality fabrics, but my most favorite pair would be the "Pro Stretch Reflex Hip Brief." This pair of underwear is made of microfiber, which consists of 90% nylon and 10% spandex. Regardless of what time of the day it may be, the fit of this microfiber will grab a hold of your butt leaving it saggy free.
$24.00 - $26.00

Not only is microfiber an amazing feel to keep those pair of undies looking slim on you, but 2(x)ist also has some Stretch Cotton brief boxers. Stretch cotton consists of 90% cotton and 10% spandex. Though it may still be cotton to give that soft feel to the skin, spandex gives it the elasticity of keeping the stretch perfect for the fit.
