New to Fashion Inc ♥

Hey Gems! I'm Niesha. I'm currently a double major in fashion merchandising and public relations at Fresno State. For as long as I could remember fashion has been a way of life, I have adapted too since a very young age. Being inspired by many celebrities throughout my youth, I have found it fairly natural to engage in sketching my own designs and bringing them to life while Barbie's closet began to grow. For me, Barbie dared to be different. Now it is I who is doing the daring. If I could describe my personal style through one word it would have to be limitless. I am not limited nor restricted. My style is determined by my mood, occasion, weather, and trend. My ultimate fashion essential is anything vintage. I love making old treasures new again and having the ability to make my own unique statement.

♥Celebrity Style: Vanessa Hudgens♥

Hey Dolls,

Today we will be featuring one of my favorite style icons at the moment! I would call Vanessa Hudgen’s Style, laid back boho. Her outfits can be girly and tomboyish at the same time. I have to admit that this type of style is one that I often find myself wearing to school, because it is so comfortable! I don’t feel like wearing something dressy every day, especially when there is not a lot of time in the morning. I like that she incorporates graphic tees and over size sweaters into her wardrobe. She makes her outfits by wearing edgy boots. I took some time to look up pictures of her most lovely outfits. Enjoy!

Happy 5 de Mayo!

¡Hola muñecas y muñecos!

Just using my Mexican Spanish in greeting you guys! Today is 5 de Mayo! I thought this would be the perfect opportunity for some 5 de Mayo fashion. As a Latina I feel it is my duty to bring my some of my culture into the blog and this is the perfect day for it. Before we begin though, I’d like to fill you guys in the meaning behind 5 de Mayo. Don’t worry I’m not going to give you a history lesson, but I feel it is important to know the meaning behind things. People often use this day for irrelevant celebrations. Now I know us fashionistas like being educated right? Right!

The significance of 5 de Mayo

In a very short answer May 5, 1862 was the day a battle took place known as La Batalla de Puebla. Emperor of France Napoleoan III went to Puebla, Mexico with his army of about 8,000 whom had not been defeated in 50 years. The Mexican army was outnumbered by half with only 4,000 soldiers, but ended up in victory by defeating the French army. That is why 5 de Mayo became of such pride for the Mexican people.
Okay now that we have gotten that cleared up, lets get on to the fashion part!

When I think of this holiday I always think of color and beautiful patterns. One particular piece that is often seen on this day and happens to be my favorite is a dress. It’s not just any dress though, this dress is very light weight and carry’s intricate colorful embroidery. If you are a Latina you can probably find one of these in your abuelitas closet. For some it might seem kind of a silly and not really wearable piece, but I love it! I think fashion is all about color and having fun so why not try something new? I’m talking about the Mexican Peasant Dress also known as Boho Dress, Puebla Dress, and Mexican Folk Dress.

I know this is a difficult piece to find at a regular store so try e-bay!

Now don’t think I have forgotten about our guy readers out there! One specific piece that I personally like to see on guys is a guayabera. A guayabera is a light weight, button up, relaxed shirt for men. I think this is definitely wearable on an everyday basis. It feels really laid back but has a very dressy look to it that I like. I advice to throw on a fedora hat and you’re good to go!

Fab Find!

My fab find for this post is this ruffled tube top from Forever 21 for only $8.50! What a steal!! For only $8.50, it's quite the deal, considering that you could pair it up with so many different choices, dress it up or down. I've put together a few outfits for you to get some ideas flowin' in your heads!

So perfect for a casual summer date. This outfit projects class and sexiness, but still keeping it casual and comfortable. I mainly stayed true to the nude color palette with this outfit, and added outrageous feather dangly earrings, which looks great with tube tops since it elongates your neck and draws attention up to your face.

This would be a great outfit to walk by the beach with. You look casual and cute, with a comfortable flowy skirt and a floppy hat to shade your face from the sunlight. When it's time to hit the sandy beaches, take off your wedges and carry 'em!

This outfit is wearable anywhere! I added a pop of color with a light orange belt for a fun effect, and I paired the top with a pair of flared high waisted jeans.

Remember, you don't have to break your bank to look cute :)

Clothes but what about make-up?

Green Eyes
Step one:
To amp up a green gaze while keeping your makeup subtle, opt for a light, icy green eye shadow. The shade should be lighter than the color of your eyes (this trick makes your peepers look even greener).

Step two
:
Purple makes green eyes pop. For a bold, bright look, use a shadow brush to dapple a loud purple shadow from lashes to crease, letting the color get sheerer as it nears the brow bone.

Step three
:

Gorgeous green eyes were made for smoldering shadow. A dusky bronze-hued shadow layered over a glimmering charcoal liner looks outrageously hot with your eye color.

Brown Eyes
Step one:
A brown-eyed girl's best bet for the natural look? Warm, earthy shadows in taupes or cocoas. Sweep them onto your lids to add depth and dimension.

Step two:

Ready to play with some hot-off-the-runway brights? Use a natural bristle shadow brush to swirl an intense blue shadow onto your lids, layering the color densely
at the lashes and fading it as you work up to the brow bone.

Step three:

Nab a sexy, modern twist on the smoky eye: Reach for a soft kohl liner in a shimmery, deep green shade. Dot the liner between your lower lashes, then use your finger to smudge for a rock 'n' roll messy look.

Blue Eyes
Step one:
For a soft, glowy look that will light up your eyes, grab a sheer shadow in a heather hue. Use your finger to pat the shadow all over your lids for a naturally pretty, unfussy effect.

Step two:
Looking to add some wow to your wink? A swipe of shimmery lilac or fuchsia liner brightens baby blues. Trace it along your upper lash line.

Step three:
Going for that sultry smoky effect? Skip the basic blacks -- they're too much for your light-colored eyes. Layering and blending velvety cool-toned plummy shadows intensifies your gaze, sans the bullet-hole-eyed vampire effect.
Step four:
Trade in black liner or mascara for a rich, chocolaty brown -- especially if you've got the fair skin to go with those blue peepers. And if you wear blue shadow, always make sure it's a lighter shade of blue than your eyes.

Hope you all enjoyed these tips!
